PRIORITIES
Make Oregon more affordable. Oregon families and small businesses are working harder just to keep up with the rising cost of living. We need to stop relying on higher taxes and instead take a hard look at how government spends the money it already has.
I will work to prioritize essential services, eliminate waste, and make sure taxpayer dollars are delivering results. We can invest in the services Oregonians depend on while finding ways to reduce unnecessary costs and regulations that drive up the price of housing, energy, food, and other necessities. Oregon cannot continue to blame the federal government when we have work to do at home.
Oregon should be a place where families can afford to live, businesses can afford to grow, and people can build a future.
LOWER COSTS
Public safety is a basic responsibility of government. We need to support the men and women who serve in law enforcement and make sure they have the resources and tools they need to protect our communities.
We also need to be prepared for the emergencies we know can happen in Oregon—from wildfires and floods to other natural disasters. Local communities are often the first to respond, and they need the resources, equipment, and flexibility to protect lives and property.
Safe communities require strong law enforcement, local leadership, and a commitment to being prepared.
KEEP OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE
Oregon needs an economy that rewards investment, supports agriculture and small businesses, and creates good-paying jobs.
I’ve spent decades working in economic development, including 15 years leading the Port of The Dalles and 16 years serving on the Wasco County Commission. I’ve worked to bring investment and jobs to our region, grow our local tax base, and build the infrastructure communities need to succeed.
That experience has taught me that government’s role is to create opportunity—not put unnecessary barriers in the way. We need to reduce burdensome regulations, support agriculture and local businesses, and make it easier to invest, build, and grow.
I know how to grow an economy because I’ve done it. Let’s put that experience to work for all of Oregon.
GROW OUR ECONOMY
Rural Oregon deserves infrastructure that works. Roads, bridges, water and sewer systems are essential to our communities, agriculture, businesses, and quality of life—and many rural communities face significant needs with limited resources.
The State of Oregon can help communities meet these needs through state infrastructure programs and funding. We need to make sure those programs are focused on the most critical needs and that rural communities have a fair opportunity to access the resources they need.
That means maintaining the roads and bridges we already have, improving water and sewer systems, and investing in infrastructure that supports public safety, economic development, and future growth.
Strong rural communities need strong infrastructure. Let’s make sure they have the tools and resources to build it.
FIX OUR INFRASTRUCTURE
Our schools need to focus on what matters most: educating our kids. Too many dollars and too much time are being spent on bureaucracy and administrative requirements instead of direct instruction.
We need to listen to the teachers, superintendents, and local school leaders who know their communities best. I’ll work to reduce unnecessary state mandates and non-instructional burdens so local districts can focus their resources where they matter most—in the classroom.
Put students and teachers first. More resources in the classroom, less bureaucracy in the way.
